09:57:40 racs you think you know me ;)
09:57:41 nicomen wegster: I started the process btw )
09:57:44 nicomen ;)
09:58:17 racs but all you know is my script ;)
09:58:35 nicomen hehe

10:02:21 racs LOL
10:02:49 nicomen bbrv blog?
10:02:56 nicomen ah
10:03:08 racs intel is "moving" ;)
10:03:31 nicomen oh, I get a janitor picture
10:04:32 racs janitor for what?
10:04:42 racs for moving? ;)
10:06:20 nicomen Dang!
10:06:20 nicomen Our database has apparently gone down.
10:06:20 nicomen The janitor has been paged to come clean up.
10:06:24 nicomen Please check back soon.
10:06:31 nicomen http://www.osnews.com/images/janitor.jpg
10:07:12 racs ehe :)
10:08:29 racs they just pulled down the database
10:08:39 racs it wasn't as interesting anyway
10:08:46 nicomen it works now and then
10:08:54 nicomen ddos or some malconfiguration
10:09:57 nicomen rms on gpl3 http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1895,1913280,00.asp
10:10:16 nicomen the headshot looks like a convict photo
10:12:12 racs yea :)
10:12:19 racs eh, Stallman...
10:12:33 nicomen yeah that's what rms is for ;)
10:12:38 nicomen Richard M. Stallman
10:12:50 racs he is far too idealistic
10:13:04 nicomen we need some maniacs like him too
10:13:16 racs I don't think he is able to handle the situation
10:13:39 racs just like asking junkies about drug legalization
10:13:56 racs the thinks are going different in the real world :)
10:14:44 nicomen I admit he's an arrogant bastard though
10:14:59 nicomen The need to have the GPL more compatible with other free licenses is one I have heard a lot about, as well as the issue of license proliferation. Your thoughts on this?
10:15:02 nicomen We're not interested in the Open Source Initiative's approval of licenses. We've been judging licenses as to whether they are free software licenses many years before there was an OSI. They're entitled to have their own opinions and have nothing, particularly, to do with our movement.
10:15:10 nicomen *poff* ditched OSI
10:15:26 racs good idea ;)
10:15:45 nicomen well, they might have done that earlier on already, but he's not exactly walking quietly in the doorways
10:15:57 racs he didn't realize that open source would benefit a lot from the support of several governments
10:16:08 racs but they won't negotiate with a hippy
10:16:18 racs gonvernments need an organization as a partner
10:21:48 racs I tried 3DMarkk2006 on my PC...
10:21:58 racs I shouldn't do that...

10:25:27 racs eh... these freakin' shutdown buttons on the keyboard...
10:52:15 zerohero ah, they work on that system, at least :)
11:30:50   <-- bones has quit (Leaving: This computer has gone to sleep)
11:41:26 racs zerohero: I would be happier if they didn't
11:42:14 zerohero racs: it would be cool if they worked on os4 :)
11:42:27 zerohero racs: not only the shutdown button then :)
11:42:45 nicomen wegster: in the oven in a couple of minutes
11:42:45 racs zerohero: what for? to make me angry? ;)
11:43:01 racs nicomen: wegster is in your oven? ;)
11:43:08 zerohero racs: nah, just ta have that feature, if wanted :)
11:43:25 nicomen racs: nah i'm keeping him up-to-dat in my croissant making experience
11:43:29 racs zerohero: I would turn this thing off on windoze, but I don't know how...
11:43:31 nicomen developing pastery
11:43:45 racs nicomen: ookay ;)
11:43:52 zerohero racs: never had such a keyboard :)
11:44:11 racs zerohero: until now me neither
11:44:32 zerohero racs: where are those buttons placed on the keyboard?
11:44:40   -!- * racs is dreaming of the good ol' days with keys of no shutdown
11:51:18 racs zerohero: exatly there where I used to grab the keyboard
11:51:41 racs zerohero: so I shut down my machine many times accidentally
11:51:47 zerohero racs: ouch, bad :)

13:45:28 racs nicomen: hm, looks nice, was it good?
13:45:38 nicomen yup
13:48:37 racs have a question for you guys
13:49:00 nicomen suspense is killing me
13:49:14 racs how do picture filtering programs do guassian blur at the edges of the picture?
13:50:06 nicomen hehe
13:50:13 nicomen several ways
13:50:24 nicomen some accept that they "lose" parts of the picture
13:50:38 racs lose?
13:50:43 nicomen others use the same value to the left, top, bottm, right depending on which border you are on
13:51:05 nicomen racs: yeah as if the filter is 3x3 then you lose a 1 pixel border around the picture
13:51:39 racs you mean crop?
13:52:05 racs I just experienced with Photoshop and it seems it repeats the picture at the edges
13:54:20 nicomen yeah, that's a "cheap" way of doing it
13:55:06 nicomen you could "guess" an outer part of the pictre using what you see some rows/columns inside it, if you understand what I mean
13:55:17 nicomen continuing a diagonal line for instance
13:55:40 nicomen but most of the time people don't end up using the whole picture, so they don't notice the borders being weird
13:55:56 nicomen OR the pictures have a background that doesn't change on filtering
13:56:03 nicomen OR they only filter parts of the picture
13:57:39 racs I think it wouldn't worth the effort
13:58:01 nicomen mot of the time it isn't
13:58:32 nicomen i you are making some kind of paint/processing program, maybe you could indicate that an inner part of the picture will be affected with a selection box
13:58:46 nicomen or apply the fake-enlarged borders
13:58:57 nicomen then people would understand what it does at least
14:04:05 racs no, I don't
14:04:20 racs it is not really matter in my case
14:05:20 racs I am trying to gather enough info for implementing a field-of-depth effect :)
14:08:22 nicomen hm
14:08:24 nicomen what?
14:09:22 racs when the focus of the camera is on a certain point and the rest is blurry
14:10:53 nicomen ah

15:36:20 zacc zerohero: hehe, yeah, I guess so :). How is it going with your own projects?

20:27:12 wegster nicomen, yt?
20:35:26 wegster zerohero, your cross compilers built fo 3.x as well?
20:38:51 zerohero wegster: you can build for 3.x, not compile on 3.x
20:39:11 wegster zerohero, ok, guy on aw asking about compiler etc for 3.x, where should point him to?
20:39:46 nicomen wegster: kin of, drinking beer with a mate

20:40:59 wegster nicomen, np, same Q, someone asking for compiler to run on 3.x, vbcc then/no gcc?
20:41:28 wegster heh ok, salass00 beat me to it
20:43:49 zerohero gcc for 3.x exists in the geekgadgets package
20:44:03 zerohero can be a pain to setup, at first, till you get a hang of it
20:44:10 zerohero but that's on 3.x for 3.x
20:45:00 zerohero http://ftp.back2roots.org/geekgadgets/amiga/m68k/snapshots/990529/
20:45:07 zerohero old but functional
20:45:31 zerohero there's better gcc in ../../alpha/
20:45:44 zerohero 2.95.3-4 and 3.4.0
20:48:08 wegster nod, ok, coolness, tx
20:53:01 zerohero wegster: http://www.ezcyberspace.com/gcc/
20:53:19 zerohero small tutorial how to setup gcc and start off with mui on 3.x
